MAI YOKOYAMA

Mai Yokoyama is a painter whose practice explores the question of authenticity through the translation of digital images and watercolor studies into oil paintings on canvas. Drawing from ruins, mythological imagery, and natural landscapes encountered during her travels, Yokoyama layers motifs associated with permanence with immaterial digital drawings, creating works that reflect on the instability of memory, visibility, and perception.
